Tyreece Miller

Deputy Chief of Investigative Services Tyreece Miller is the Deputy Chief of Police and Commander of Investigative Services. He oversees the Criminal Investigation Division, Safe Hope Center, grant management, community relations, and officers assigned to the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Miller began his career at JPD in 1997 as a patrol officer before being assigned as a narcotics investigator. He was next transferred to a violent crimes investigator in the Criminal Investigation Division. Over the next several years, he rose through the ranks from sergeant to lieutenant until being promoted to Captain of CID. Miller was appointed deputy chief in 2016. Throughout his law enforcement career, he has received numerous commendations and awards.

Miller strives to better serve the community outside of his official law enforcement duties by volunteering with a number of non-profits and social service organizations. He is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Jackson and often speaks to community groups and schools on crime awareness and citizen safety.

Miller is a United States Marine veteran and earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bethel University.
