Street Cuts/Bores, Driveways & Other Permits

The Engineering Department is responsible for permitting miscellaneous activities that could adversely impact the City’s infrastructure. These activities, which require a permit in advance, include the cutting or boring of City streets or roads (usually for utility installation or repair), installation by home builders/homeowners of additional driveway(s) for residential homes, temporary street closings and house moving events along City Streets. Permits for these activities shall be issued by the City Engineer upon the receipt and favorable review of a written application filed by the applicant on forms provided by the Engineering Department. At the time of application, the applicant shall pay a permit fee. In each case, the amount of the permit fee will depend on the nature and extent of the activity being permitted.
