Battalion Chief Randy Hayes
Chief Hayes started his career with the City of Jackson Fire Department in 1999. He started as a firefighter on snorkel 1, station 1, he was soon moved to Engine 13 where he also became part of the Hazardous Materials team. In 2005 he was promoted to Driver moving to station 4, driving Quint 4, later he moved back to station 1 driving the snorkel, after few months moving to Engine 13. In 2010 Chief Hayes was promoted to Lieutenant moving back to station 4, Engine 42. Promoting to Captain soon after he moved back to station 1 serving as Captain on Engine 12 which is also the rescue truck for District 1.
Along the way, Chief Hayes has received two “Member of the Month” awards, City Citation of valor, along with Firefighter of the Year award.
Chief Hayes is married to wife Tammy, they have two children, Hunter and Miranda. Hunter is a Fighter Pilot in the USAF. Miranda is a RN working at Methodist Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.
In 2018 Chief Hayes was promoted to Battalion Chief where he currently serves as District 1 Battalion Chief for B-Shift.
