Battalion Chief Johnny Brantley
Battalion Chief Johnny Brantley has been employed with the City of Jackson Fire Department for over 30 years. Chief Brantley began his career as a firefighter on January 19, 1983 and was assigned to Engine 32, formally known as Engine Company 302. He would serve in this capacity for a number of years before obtaining the rank of Driver and his assignment to Engine Company 42.
Chief Brantley continued his advancement with a promotion to the rank of Captain on Engine Company 32 in June 2000. During these years, he acquired certifications from the Tennessee Commission on Fire Fighting in the areas of Firefighter III, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I and First Responder from the State of Tennessee Division of Emergency Medical Services.
He was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief in January 2011 and was assigned to C-Shift District 1. Battalion Chief Johnny Brantley is a graduate of Northside High School’s Class of 1979. He is married to his lovely wife Kathy and has two beautiful children named Mary and Will, a son-in-law named Jay, and a wonderful grandson named Noah.
