Battalion Chief Lindsay N. Roberts
Battalion Chief Lindsay N. Roberts has been employed with the City of Jackson Fire Department for nearly 23 years. He was promoted in November 2008 to Battalion Chief of Operations District 2, which includes the supervision of Fire Station 5: Vann Drive, Fire Station 6: Ashport Road, and Fire Station 7: Windy City Road. Battalion Chief Roberts began his career in 1991 as a firefighter assigned to an engine company. Throughout his career, he has served in various roles within the Department, including the Training Division, Haz-Mat Technician and Technical Rescue Technician.
Battalion Chief Roberts graduated from Jackson Central Merry High School in Jackson, Tennessee, in 1973. He also graduated from Shelby State Community College in 1981 as part of their Paramedic Program and was one of three certified Paramedics in Madison County at that time. Battalion Chief Roberts has served 8 years as a certified Paramedic and a total of 42 years in the fire service. He was promoted to Captain in 2002 and served as Captain of Engine 62 until his promotion to Battalion Chief of Operations District 2 in May 2008.
Battalion Chief Roberts hold certifications from the Tennessee Commission of Fire Fighting in the areas of Firefighter III, Fire Department Instructor I, Fire Officer I and Fire Officer II. He also holds certifications in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Haz-Mat Team Operations (HMTO) and Medical First Responder.
Of his greatest accomplishments, his most valued and treasured is the union that he shares with his lovely wife Mrs. Melodie Roberts for 10 years, her two daughters Melodie Ann and Candy, his son Christopher, and their three grandchildren: Tyler, Molly Kate, and Hunter Blake.
