Captain Ron Adams
Captain Ronald D. Adams has been with the Jackson Police Department for thirty-two years. He has served as an undercover narcotics officer, and as a member of the Patrol, Traffic, and Community Relations Divisions. His present assignment is that of the North Precinct Commander, and Commander of the Traffic Division. Captain Adams has worked in the Aviation Unit as a Mission Pilot, and Forward Looking Infrared Thermal Imaging Specialist. Ron has held a seat on the Tennessee Highway Safety Management System Advisory Board.
Captain Adams also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (T.L.E.T.A.). He is a past chairman of the Jackson/Madison County Traffic Safety Coalition. Captain Adams serves as a member of the Metropolitan Planning Organization Executive Technical Staff where he participates in traffic planning.
Captain Adams is a Traffic Crash Reconstructionist and commands the Critical Incident Response Team. The C.I.R.T. team conducts scientific traffic crash investigation and forensic mapping of incident scenes. Ronald D. Adams has completed specialized instructor development training from, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, National Safety Council, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Utah Department of Public Safety. T.L.E.T.A. has certified Ron as an Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor; he is a certified RADAR/LIDAR Instructor; and is a DUI-Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Instructor. He has attended more than thirty-five other specialized training courses.
