Major Crimes Bureau
The Major Crimes Bureau is commanded by Lieutenant Phillip Stanfill.
The Major Crimes Bureau has three Sergeants and six Investigators on staff.
The Major Crimes Bureau (MCB) investigates crimes against an individual, including, but not limited to, death investigations (homicides, suicides, suspicious and unattended deaths), domestic violence, predominantly felonious assaults (shootings, stabbings, and kidnappings) and robberies. MCB also investigates Officer Involved Shootings.
Major Crimes Unit
Investigates serious crimes against persons on the day shift.
Major Crimes Response Team
Responds to felonies or special circumstance cases on the evening shift.
Sex Offender Compliance Management
Responsible for managing sex offenders who are required by statute to register with the Jackson Police Department, insuring compliance and initiating prosecution as appropriate.
